The source data is public, but programmatic access is regulated to keep the service stable and its use traceable. The form takes under two minutes to complete.

What to have ready

The organisation you are requesting access for, or a note that it is in an individual capacity.
The intended purpose, described concretely — which application, for which audience.
An estimate of request volume, however approximate.
An email address you actually read: that is where the key is sent.

What happens next

Submission
You receive a request reference immediately. Keep it: it is how the request is identified in any later contact.

Review
Each request is reviewed individually, against the stated purpose and the expected volume. We may ask for clarification by email.

Decision
The decision is communicated by email. If favourable, the key travels in the same message, with the assigned limits.
